THREE members of Boston’s TJ Gymnastics have qualified to compete at the national finals.

Tegan Rogers, Keisha Almond and Kara Cartwright booked their places at the event after competing in the acrobatic and tumbling preliminaries at New College, Leicester.

In the National 3 girls’ under 13 years tumbling contest, Tegan Rogers scored 73.40 to win gold.

Teammates Paige Wallis scored 72.90 for silver and Annalise Smith scored 70.80, coming seventh.

The National 3 girls’ 13+ years event saw Keisha Almond score 72.80 as she won gold. Caitlin McNulty scored 67.40, winning bronze.

In the Elite 2 girls 13/14 years, Kara Cartwright won gold and Reanna Ebbutt won silver.

Kiera Gilman and Jasmine Clare won bronze medals in the acrobatic pairs competition.

Jasmine and Kiera spent just two training sessions together and Jasmine learned the routine three days before the competition, after Kiera’s partner suffered an injury which meant that she couldn’t compete.

It was a case of TJs in PJs for the girls as they held a sponsored pyjama fundraiser at the Princess Royal Sports Arena.

All the youngsters and their coaches were sponsored to wear their PJs for their training sessions for a week to raise cash for equipment, eventually earning £980 for the coffers.

The club are on the lookout for further sponsorship. Anyone interested should call Kim Glasel on 07912 66364 or Tony Hockley on 07766 172631.
