A talented 12-year-old Lincolnshire schoolgirl has been presented with a clutch of trophies at the annual awards dinner of the British Women Racing Drivers' Club.

Abbi Pulling, who lives at Gosberton, started racing in the closely-contested Formula TKM Junior kart racing class last year and, after an outstanding debut, year took a trio of BWRDC awards.

The youngster took the BWRDC awards for karting and, as top junior driver, then topped it off with the premier award, the Mary Wheeler Trophy for overall club champion, their youngest ever by a long way.

Abbi was presented with the awards by BBC TV presenter Suzi Perry at a star studded event featuring the best of British women in motorsport at Wroxhall Abbey.

She said: ”I was so thrilled and proud to win the top award.”

Abbi joined the TKM class part way through the year with a second hand Tal-Ko Veloce kart and showed instant talent with race wins and fastest laps at top national level despite being one of the youngest in the class.

She was quickly snapped up by TKM boss Alan Turney to race for the Tal-Ko works race team in 2016.
