BOSTON Rugby Club are hoping to pull themselves further off the bottom of the Midlands 4 East (North) Division when they host Nottingham Boots Corsairs on Saturday.

Action returns to the Boardsides for the first time since the Blue and Whites’ promotion from Midlands 5 last term.

And Willem Jonker’s side are hoping to pick up a further five points to drag them closer to their mission: impossible - promotion.

Boston began the campaign on -12 points following a on-field altercation against Ollerton in the final game of last campaign.

The match was left unfinished as the hosts walked from the field, refusing the complete the final quarter against Boston, who were winning comfortably.

However, Jonker believes that all is not lost and his promise of back-to-back promotions can be achieved, if his side don’t lose more than two league clashes.

A Tom Brooks-inspired victory over Keyworth on Saturday saw them reduce the deficit to -7.

Brooks scored 27 points in the 42-29 success.

Were it not for Boston’s decution, Corsairs would be bottom of the table after the first round of matches.

They suffered a 45-5 drubbing at home to Long Eaton.
