Boston Rugby Club booked their place in the semi-finals of the Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire Shield - without even kicking a ball.

Opponents Worksop pulled out of Saturday’s contest less than two hours before kick off because the away side were unable to put out a front row.

Boston were awarded the match and will now play Tupton at home in the semi on March 15.

The Blue and Whites currently sit seventh in the Midlands 3 East (North) and will be looking to maintain their recent good run in the new year.

Their first game back is home against Southwell, who currently lie fifth, on January 4 (KO 2.15pm).
