The waiting is over. The Boston Buccaneers will make their competitive home debut this weekend.
After a stop-start beginning to their first season, the Rugby League team will host Sherwood Wolf Hunt at the Boardsides on Saturday.
The newly-formed team - who also play out of Boston Rugby Club’s home, and also include a number of the Blue and Whites’ union code squad in their ranks - have had a slow start to their first season.
Both their original home and away fixtures against Derby City had to be postponed.
On top of that, a proposed home fixture against Northamptonshire Demons had to be scrapped after their opponents decided to withdraw from the Midland Merit League.
The Buccaneers’ only competitive fixture to date has bee the rearranged league clash at Derby, which they won 48-14.
Sherwood are also a new team to the league.
The Mansfield-based outfit have had a mixed season thus far, playing four times and winning two.
Kik off at the Boardsides will be at 2.30pm.
