Boston Rugby Club secured promotion from the Midlands 4 East (North) yesterday, following their 33-15 victory at Long Eaton.
In a hastily-arranged fixture, Willem Jonker’s men stretched their season-long unbeaten record to 20 matches.
Success in Derbyshire - against a side who were challenging the Blue and Whites for much of the season - means Boston will now definitely finish in one of the two promotion places.
Victory or a draw at home to second-placed Worksop on Saturday (they are 10 points clear with two matches to play) will ensure Boston are going up to Midlands 3 as champions.
The Blue and Whites gained promotion from Midlands 5 level last season, but began this campaign with a 12-point deduction after failing to finish their final league contest at Ollerton.
The deduction would have held back most teams, but Boston rose to the challenge to defeat all in front of them so far.
