Rugby juniors claim a 53-0 win
BOSTON Rugby Club’s under 14s travelled to Skegness in high spirits.. and returned with a 53-0 victory.
The weather was perfect for running rugby and, straight from the kick off, Oli Balsom ran in a try under the posts.
Boston were in complete control, dominating in the forwards and especially in the backs where slick passing ensured a steady flow of points.
Alex Roberts continued to make storming forward runs and captain Matt Bray marshalled his team well.
Despite a late rally from the bigger Skegness forwards, they were unable to break down the Boston defence.
Try scorers were Oli Balsom (four), Fabian Gillick (two), Jack Power (two) and Herbie Laidlaw.
Matt Bray converted four of the tries.

l BOSTON under eights hosted Cleethorpes for three games of fast-action rugby.
In the first game, Boston dominated Cleethorpes with a superb defensive game that saw them win 4-2, with Henson (two), Vickers and Willis scoring for Boston.
In the second game, through sheer bad luck with handling, Boston lost 8-7, with Turner, Young, Henson, Vickers, Nicholson (two), and Cutherburson scoring for Boston.
In the final game, Boston were clear winners again, albeit with a less than flattering score of 8-5.
The hosts dominated the final game, but a two-minute lapse flattered the Cleethorpes score.

It was the first game that the team had played for six weeks, and at first they found it difficult to contain a big and strong Cleethorpes team.
However, good breakaway tries gave Boston a 5-3 half time lead.
In the second half, Boston got into their stride and with more good ball running and tackling they ran out winners by 10-5.
Tries came from Loveley (four), Gillick (three), Welberry (two), Craven.
The second game had a similar pattern to the first, but Boston continued to impress with some good tries and defensive play that allowed them to win 8-4.
Try scorers were Loveley (five), Gillick (two) and Fitzpatrick.
