Boston Rugby Club’s under 15s were runners-up in a sevens tournament in Derby.
Twenty teams from Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire were taking part, with Boston in a group with Chesterfield, Derby A, Kesteven B and Newark.
After beating Chesterfield 27-7, they lost by the same score to Derby.
But after a 48-0 defeat to Newark, a 26-0 success againt Kesteven was enough for the team to qualify for the semi-finals of the NLD Shield.
The young Blue and Whites put in a surging performance to defeat Nottingham Corsairs 26-17.
In the final they came up against a physically more imposing Scunthorpe side, going down 47-12.
The day ended with the team being presented with their runners-up trophies.
