Willem Jonker has warned Midlands 3 table toppers Ashby that Boston Rugby Club have ‘nothing to lose’.
The Blue and Whites travel to face their highflying rivals on Saturday (KO 2.15pm).
Ashby are three points clear of West Bridgford at the top of the Midlands 3 East (North), having won 11 of their 12 games to date.
But that one defeat came in a narrow 14-12 loss at Boston, who are currently in sixth spot.
Ashby may be looking to get one over Boston this weekend, but Jonker wants his side to travel without fear.
He said: “We’re going to go there with nothing to lose.
“We will give everything and if we turn them over we turn them over.
“I know they’ll be up for it, but it’s the same for us.”
Boston earned a 36-28 victory at the expense of Southwell on Saturday.
In a mudbath on the Boardsides, Boston fought back from 21-7 down to win.
Boston are beginning to find a firm foothold in the league, following a slow start.
“I think we struggled in defence at first,” admitted Jonker, who had previously won back-to-back promotions with the club.
“We got to a stage where if you tackle a player they don’t always stop - players at this level are more physical and skillful.”
Jonker (pictured) was set to run the rule over a scrum half at training last night.
