Saeed hits an unbeaten century for Freiston LL, while Grant’s 57 runs helps Friskney close the gap

Friskney’s First XI closed the gap on second-placed Baston in the South Lincs and Border League Division One.

Rob Grant hit 57 runs to help his side finish on 232-8.

In response, Baston were dismissed for 130.

Friskney sit in third in the table, 17 points behind second-placed Baston.

In the South Lincs and Border League Division Two, Freiston, Leake and Leverton CC beat Pinchbeck by 180 runs on Sunday.

Zeeshan Saeed hit an unbeaten century as Freiston LL posted 240-7.

Saeed’s 105 was backed up by good scores from Rob Sexton (26), Stewart Kirtley (20), John Goodfellow, (19), Richard Paul (16), Sunil Panjwani (15) and Charles Lenton (11).

Pinchbeck were all out for 60 in the 19th over.

Tommy Atkinson claimed five victims, with further wickets being taken by Oliver Booth (three), Taimur Mian and Paul.

Saeed wasn’t in the same scoring form the previous day as Freiston LL lost by two wickets at Claypole CC.

In another SLBL Division Two contest, Saeed went for three.

However, a 39 from Kirtley plus scores from Naveen Joachim (23), Paul (18) and Tommy Atkinson (15 not out) saw Freiston record 128 before being dimissed.

Claypole reached 128 for the loss of eight wickets after 27 overs.

Martin Hodgson (three), Tommy Atkinson (two), Sean Burns (two) and Booth took the Claypole wickets.

In the R.P. Smith Transport Friendly League, Freiston lost by 41 runs at Grimoldby.

The hosts were dimissed for 155, with Freiston going for 114.
