Skipworth strikes gold
Tuesday, 8am - BOSTON martial artist Iain Skipworth struck gold at the Kuk Sool Won European Championships – just one day after undergoing an eye operation.
Partially-sighted Iain was straight out of hospital and off to King's Lynn – this year's venue and a handy location for the Boston competitors.
At first, Iain did not know if he would recover in time to compete.
But he showed resolve to win gold in the defence techniques category and silver in forms.
Boston club member Daniel Lane also tasted success in the championships, earning two bronzes and a copper gong in his categories.
