THE deadline for Boston-area sports clubs to get their hands on some additional funding is looming.
Nearly £400,000 is available for sports projects in the county through a national Sport England project called Sportivate, and the next deadline is August 19.
Sportivate is a national programme managed by Sport England and delivered through county sports partnerships across the country.
It hopes to use the London 2012 Games to encourage teenagers and young adults to take part in sport over the next four years.
Lincolnshire Sports Partnership has £395,000 to allocate to Sportivate projects between July 2011 and May 2015, and sports clubs and organisations are encouraged to apply.
Lucy Blakey, Children and Young People’s Officer at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, said: “Sportivate not only provides a great opportunity to encourage young people to get involved in sport, it provides a huge financial incentive for sports clubs.
“We hope that over the next four years we see an increase in sports participation as a result of Sportivate, and we don’t want clubs and organisations to miss out on this opportunity for funding.”
