United snap up two more

Thursday, 9am - BOSTON United have snapped up two new players.

Twenty-three-year-old winger Tyrone Kirk and defender Chris Wood, 22, put pen to paper yesterday.

Kirk, who had a trial with the Pilgrims at the start of the 2007/08 season but failed to impress former manager Tommy Taylor, was snappped up after leaving Stamford, where he was their player of the year.

Kirk was part of the Daniels team which beat United in the Lincs Senior Shield final in December.

Wood, who can play right back or centre back, helped Boston bosses Paul Hurst and Rob Scott win promotion from the UniBond Premier during a loan spell at Ilkeston Town last season.

He became a free agent after being released by Blue Square Premier outfit Mansfield Town.

Meanwhile, former Pilgrims winnger David Farrell has traded places with Kirk - joining Stamford, where he teams up with ex-Boston players Dannny Matson and Dan Cotton.
