Wilson ready for Brands Hatch test

Wednesday, 10am - MOTORCYCLING ace Ben Wilson will be competing at Brands Hatch this weekend in round eight of the British Supersport Championship.

The Kirton rider is looking to challenge the championship leaders on one of his favourite tracks, with just five races remaining in the series.

Ben, who rides for Gearlink Kawasaki, is currently in fifth place overall in the championship but is looking to move up, with third spot in his sights.

He said: "I am really looking forward to getting back to race action.

"I have been training hard and am relishing the thought of racing again at Brands Hatch. In last year's race on the GP circuit I scored a good result and there is no reason why I can't do that again this time.

"The Gearlink Kawasaki Supersport machine is a top bike and I have proved already this season I can run at the front. You can be sure I will be putting 110 per cent effort into the race on Sunday to score as many points as possible to close the gap to the series leader."

Free practice and qualifying take place on Friday (Aug 7) and Saturday (Aug 8) with the 16-lap British Supersport race scheduled to start at 4.55pm on Sunday.
