THIRTY-seven students from Boston College have made a pledge to get more people playing sport.
The students attended one of three Sport Makers workshops held at the College, which inspired them to give something back to the community and volunteer at local sports sessions and events.
A total of 21 students from the Lynch Leadership Academy and 16 students from the Uniformed Public Services enrolled.
Alan Brickwood, lecturer in public service at Boston College, said: “It was very beneficial for our students. So beneficial in fact that Lincolnshire Sports Partnership is running another workshop next week to another group.
“I think the group were very motivated and gained an understanding of how to organise activities which can give something back to the local area.”
Co-ordinated by Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, Sport Makers aims to inspire 548 people in Lincolnshire to get involved in sport, with each of them spending at least 10 hours organising or leading sporting activities. It is open to anyone aged 16 and over.
There will be more Sport Maker workshops taking place during Volunteer Week from June 1-7. Visit www.sportmakers.co.uk or call 01522 585 580.
