Letter; Stunned by heads comments I was stunned and angry to read the front page in the Boston Standard of September 3 in which Giles headteacher Chris Walls attacked the grammar school system which has always offered a very good all-round education.

Head slams grammar system Wednesday, 2pm - A headteacher has launched a blistering attack on the grammar school system – claiming secondary moderns add 'more value' to their pupils.

Letter: 'Astounded' at headteacher's outburst I was astounded and outraged at the absolute venom pouring forth from the mouth of the head of a large secondary school.

Letter: Head's comment 'insulting' As parents of both Giles and Grammar School students we find Mr Walls' comments as reported in last week's Standard under the headline 'Blinkered' as insulting.
