There was a chance to learn more about allotment gardening and growing your own at a special event in Boston recently.

The drop-in session was held at the Community Rooms, in Strait Bargate, to coincide with National Allotment Week.

It was organised by Age UK and Boston Borough Council and saw gardening experts from allotments in Toot Lane, Willoughby Road and Witham Way offering free advice to visitors. Amanda Wilson of Age UK is pictured here at the stand.

Rick Aaron, from Lincolnshire Master Gardeners, a group of volunteers who offer free support on food growing, was also on hand.

Deborah Broadley, from Boston Mayflower, prepared some healthy nibbles for people to taste and The Health Trainers team were also there to support people who want to make healthy changes in their lifestyles.
