The toy brand Nerf, created by Parker Brothers based around a variety of foam-based toy weaponry, has become one of the newest crazes beginning to sweep the country.

There are currently only three Nerf Zones in the UK – at Matlock Bath, Milton Keynes and Warrington - but Boston Bowl is hoping to be at the forefront of current trends by introducing such a facility at its Rochford Tower Lane site.

A large section of the proposed front extension has been dedicated to a
Nerf Zone.

In the planning statement submitted by Studio 21 Design on behalf of Boston Bowl, it said: “We feel it will not only attract a large number of visitors from the local area but will also provide a tourist attraction for the large number of holiday makers visiting the area.”

It is also intended that the proposed front and side extension would provide space for a toddlers’ play zone and state-of-the-art indoor climbing walls, in addition to the existing ten pin bowling and children’s play facilities.

The plans include an additional five parking spaces on site, providing parking for up to 60 vehicles.
