Young people in Boston keen to gain theatrical experience can now take advantage of a now opportunity at Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre.
Theatrical academy Harlequin Theatre Arts has announced it will join the historic Boston theatre this month.
It will offer professional-quality theatrical education to youngsters aged four-18 years, divided into three age groups.
A spokesman for the company said: “Kids taking part will get chance to benefit from expert tutelage from industry experts including training in singing, dancing and acting.”
They will work towards a summer musical and Christmas cabaret and stage regular shows for family and friends.
From Easter the school will also offer evening dance classes for adults, as well as an all-age show choir.
The academy will be run by Deborah Atkinson and Abigail Kingsley-Parker, both of whom have a wealth of professional experience.
Deborah trained at Birmingham Conservatoire of Music and her career includes work for the BBC, performances at the Electric Proms and appearances on television. Choreographer tutor Abigail trained at the Royal and Birmingham Royal Ballet, where she was awarded the All-England Dance Champion prize, and won the prestigious Ninette De Valois award.
Children will have a chance to learn about all aspects of musical production, from stage and setting to costumes, make-up and acting.
A free musical theatre workshop takes place on Saturday, where children can meet the tutors, have enjoy a class and put on a performance.
