Pupils and staff from Thomas Cowley High School in Donington have visited the Tate Modern and the National Portrait Gallery in London.

The students were able to gather research and inspiration for their current and future projects.

Art teacher Polly Roylance-Smith said: “By discovering their preferred style of art this will give the students more direction when working through their own ideas.”

Pictured is pupil James Smart contemplating one of Mark Rothko’s paintings.
