The next dance night at the Gliderdrome on Friday, August 30, features a Northern Soul Night with a return visit from the Motor City Vipers.
The band will be supporting the Soft Tone Needles. Both bands come from Peterborough.
Organisers said that on their last visit the Motor City Vipers – supporting Geno Washington – were a revelation.
They said they were a superb eight-piece soul band, they included two very competent vocalists in Lisa and Andy and by the end of their set had the dance floor full.
The Soft Tone Needles boast being one of the UK’s leading soul bands. The 10-piece band specialise in their own particularly authentic blend of Northern Soul and was formed through a collective love of rare soul music, swiftly making a name for themselves on the live circuit.
Their shows are packed with energy and feature top musicianship in their offerings of the best that Northern Soul has to offer. For a band packed with relatively young musicians they have a collective CV any musician would be proud of.
Tickets priced £10 are available from the Gliderdrome (at bingo sessions), the Chris Cook Print Shop in Main Ridge, and Burgess Thompson & Richardson in High Street.
They will also be available at the door on the night priced £12.
○ In response to suggestions from patrons, most dances will now be on a Friday night and there is the possibility of Saturday dances in the New Year. Bingo customers are assured their sessions will not be affected by the change in date for the dances.
