A booksigning is taking place this weekend for a book collating a local woman’s life-long research, writings and hands-on work in horticulture.

Treasured Moments by the Rev Richard Westland (pictured) is a collection of the dedicated work of his wife Pat, now deceased, and includes advice for gardeners and growers as well as some of her recipes, funny stories and poems on the subject. “It is an ideal reference book for keen gardeners – or for schools and other organisations who wish to establish, develop or maintain their own gardens,” said Mr Westland. “It contains a lot of tips for curing various problems that arise, which will be something of use to people.”

The booksigning takes place at Johnsons Garden Centre, Wainfleet Road, Boston, on Saturday and Bank Holiday Monday, 10am-4pm each day. Proceeds go to The Butterfly Hospice Trust.
