Donington’s Flinders Founders youth group is a little nearer its fundraising target for improvements to be made to its Teen Park after a successful prize bingo night.

The event at Thomas Cowley High School was supported by businesses in the area, including Boston Audi whose staff donated the use of an Audi A5 convertible for a weekend of the winner’s choice.

As a result of the support from the school, which allowed Flinders Founders to use its main hall free of charge, and other businesses, the event raised £330 and is set to replace the Party in the Park as the youth group’s main fundraiser.

The Party in the Park ran for about ten years and was one of a number of events organised by Flinders Founders.

Activate, a holiday event for youngsters aged between eight and 19, took place at Flinders Founders Teen Park last month and featured arts and craft sessions, rowing machine workshops and a climbing wall.

Forthcoming events for Flinders Founders include a Halloween Party on Friday, October 23 and an annual Christmas Party on Sunday, December 6.
