Rowers took to the River Witham on Sunday, despite the bad weather, for the annual Dragon Boat Festival.

However, the event had to be abandoned following an incident where several gazebos were blown over and a member of the public was injured.

Organisers thanked those who helped with the event and reassured the public that systems were in place to ensure appropriate action was taken with the injured person.

It was later announced that at the time of abandonment at about 2.30pm the fastest team of the day was Arron paddlers, who will be declared winners.
