A sex shop in Boston claims it has had to order in extra pairs of handcuffs to meet high demand for bondage gear inspired by the Fifty Shades of Grey film.

Pulse & Cocktails ‘sexy superstore chain’ in Emery Lane has seen a huge surge in sales of sex toys in the run up to Valentine’s Day.

The film is said to have sparked an interest from thousands of women wanting their ‘Fifty Shades’ fantasy turning into reality - with both men and women visiting the store to buy their partner sex toys.

Current top sellers at Pulse & Cocktails are Fifty Shades of Grey official handcuffs, bondage restraints, whips, eye masks and designer sex toys

The film has sparked some controversy about S&M but the company director Clair Chapman says it should just be about having fun.

“Our company motto is ‘couples who play together, stay together’ and we firmly believe that promoting a happy, healthy sex life is good for relationships,” she said.

“Couples should have the choice and freedom of what they like to do in the bedroom and our stores offer ways of adding that extra spice. Experimenting is all about having fun and enjoying each other and for many couples that includes sex toys and bondage.”

“These days customers don’t want cheap sex toys that they only use once then throw away, they want something better quality, more powerful and that lasts longer. “Most popular sex toys these days are ‘designer vibrators’ that are rechargeable, just like a smart phone. Although, unlike a phone where most people plug it in to charge overnight, a toy is charged during the day, ready for the night.”

The store is offering an exclusive 20 per cent discount to any customer who brings in their cinema ticket from the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
