Emmerdale fans and budding scriptwriters have the chance to own a rare signed TV script when it goes under the hammer this winter.
Boston BID have acquired an autograhed Emmerdale script from the show’s 40th anniversary live special.
This along with a signed tea-towel and two posters will each be auctioned off by stars from the show when they visit Boston for the Christmas lights switch-on event.
“It’s piece of television history,” said Alan Ellis, chairman of Boston BID.
“It’s a really rare script as it was the only live show they ever did, to mark their 40th anniversary.
“I had to beg and squeal to get it and we were just expecting to get a regular script but we got this – which is worth a lot of money”
The items will be auctioned off by actors Chris Chittell and Leslie Dunlop who play Eric Pollard and and Brenda Walker in the soap. The pair will take to the stage for the auction at the switch-on event scheduled to take place in the Market Place onFriday, November 29.
The pair will follow in the footsteps of co-stars Fiona Wade (Priya) and her on-set dad, actor Bhasker Patel (Rishi) who were the guest stars at last year’s event.
Mr Ellis used his contacts to secure the items – which will be auctioned off to raise money for the mayor’s charities. “If we are lucky the Emmerdale stars will all be coming back in June too as BID is going to organise a trades fair and music event in Central Park.”
Mr Ellis said BID are working on bringing several of the actors back to Boston – with enough to organise an Emmerdale versus shopkeeps or BID members cricket match.
