CAROLLING councillors, real-life reindeer and a former Coronation Street star will greet visitors to Boston’s Christmas market this weekend.
The event, on Bargate Green, will offer plenty to get people in the festive mood, and this year it is promised to be bigger and better than ever.
All the stops have been pulled out for this year’s event, which is taking place on Saturday and Sunday.
The Standard will also be on hand on Saturday with a special gift for anyone who buys the paper on the day.
As well as the festive market, which will include traditional stalls and a craft marquee, entertainment will include ten councillors raising their voices in song in the Market Place. They will perform on Saturday, along with other musical entertainment and pantomime players from Blackfriars, including former Corrie actor Bruce Jones, who played Les Battersby.
On Sunday, the Scunthorpe and District Pipe Band will perform in the town, after they were invited here by town businessman Darron Abbott.
The usual Saturday market will also be running on both days.
Ahead of the event, on Saturday, Bruce appeared with other members of the pantomime cast at Waterstones in Boston.
