DEMONSTRATIONS from an ‘Iron Age tribeswoman’ who told tales of Roman invasion gave the town’s Guildhall Museum its busiest ever day.

With 149 visitors, excluding school parties and organised groups, the roadshow featuring ‘Seren the tribeswoman’ as part of the Hallaton Treasure exhibition, proved very popular on Thursday last week.

A spokesman for Boston Borough Council said: “Seren’s interactive tale about the mysteries surrounding the formation of an Iron Age shrine and her tribe’s encounters with Roman invaders was a hit with adults and children.”

Among other activities at the free exhibition, visitors were able to strike their own Iron Age coins to take home.
