Five people have had alcohol taken off them as part of Boston’s new ‘street-drinking ban’, according to police.

A force spokesman told The Standard there had been no arrests from the launch of the new rules last Monday up until yesterday.

Police said all those who had been asked to give up their alcohol had been compliant.

Under the new Public Space Protection Order, anyone failing to stop drinking when asked will be committing an offence and faces a fine.
