Duo play at Swineshead

A PIANO duo will be performing at the Windmill Studio Concert Series in Swineshead tonight (Friday).

Romanion Florian Mitrea will be returning to the village hall for the performance and will be joined by Alexandra Vaduva who recently won the Vienna International Piano competition.

They will be performing a programme including works by Mozard, Schubert and Brahams from 7.30pm.

Romanian pianist Florian studied at the Royal Academy of Music, in London.

He has worked with internationally-acclaimed pianists Leif Ove Adsnes, Stephen Kovacevich, Michael Roll and John Lill and has won first prizes in the Vienna International Piano Competition 2010 and Beethoven Senior Intercollegiate Competition 2010.

He has given recitals at Kings Place, St James’ Piccadilly, Steinway Hall and Drapers Hall. As a chamber musician, he has performed together with outstanding performers Alexander Sitkovetsky, David Cohen and Nabil Shehata.

Alexandra started her musical education when she was four-years-old in Romania.

Since then she has won numerous national and international competitions such as the Vienna International Piano Competition 2011, the Beethoven Piano Competition 2011, Else Cross Modern Piano Competition 2011 and Carl Filtsch International Piano Competition 2008.

Tickets to The Windmill Studio concerts cost £12 with children under 12 going free.
