A RUSSIAN duo will be bringing their family’s musical talents to Swineshead on Friday.
Brother and sister pairing cellist Mikhail Nemtsov and pianist Elena Nemtsova will be performing at the village hall from 7.30pm.
Born into a musical family in St Petersburg, both studied at the Rimsky-Korsakov Special Music School Lyceum for 11 years.
Mikhail moved to Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester, and Elena went to the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in St-Petersburg. Following her graduation in 2009, Elena also moved to Manchester to study.
She was then accepted onto the International Artist Diploma in Chamber Music at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) from which she graduated in July 2011. Mikhail is currently at the RNCM, now studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in performance.
From an early age Elena and Mikhail have enjoyed making music together and they have performed at venus such as the Capella, the Glazunov Hall and the Rimsky-Korsakov Museum.
The Duo became a serious ensemble in 2009 studying a huge repertoire and performing at the Wigmore Hall, The Warehouse, and at the 1901 Arts Club, as well as concerts at the Bridgwater Hall, the Purcell Room and Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre.
The performance on Friday begins at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12.
