‘Boston’s Elvis’ and children’s theatre at Blackfriars

Boston’s very own king of rock’n’roll will don the iconic white jacket and trousers for a performance at Blackfriars on Saturday night.

Tony (Ginty ) Elding will be taking to the stage with the outfit, the hair and the persona of ‘The King’ for his show One Night with Elvis

Ginty has been performing as Elvis since the age of seven and often performs shows for charity around the area - including the Boston Standard’s Centenary Show last summer.

Proceeds from this show will go to a local hospice.

Show starts at 7.30pm.

Boston Children Theatre’s latest production, taking place on Thursday and Friday, July 11 and 12, is entitled Donovan Daily, Star Captain: Adventures in Space!

Written and directed by Nick Brown, with assistant director Frances Sabey, the play follows the adventures of a strange mixture of characters, from the evil Baron Darkhand to Scraps the Robot and Curly the dog.

There is also a group of Frog Guards and many other strange creatures to entertain.

Boston Children’s Theatre recently won the National Operatic and Dramatic Association Best Youth Production award for its January 2012 production of Baklavia.

Tickets to the show, which starts at 7pm, are £7.50 (£6 conc).
