Blackfriars Arts Centre has announced the launch of its new website, an online booking system and the first star to be booked through it – chart-topper Sandi Thom.
The new website will launch on Monday and will include an improved design and features, and will fully integrate into the new booking system.
Audiences will be able to book tickets online through the website and through the box office and have their tickets e-mailed to them to either print at home or keep on their smartphone to be scanned in for entry.
A theatre spokesman said: “This is a major leap forward for the venue and will see us brought up-to-date and able to compete with theatres across the country.
“The website has taken five months to develop and looks stunning, and is full of features making it easier than ever to book tickets for our shows.”
In line with the launch the theatre has also revealed that Sandi Thom, who first topped the charts with I wish I was a Punk Rocker in 2006, will be performing at Blackfriars in November and will be the inaugural act to be able to be booked online.
