Fancy a laugh? Or how about letting your hair down with some swinging sounds of the sixties? Get on down to Blackfriars Theatre this week...
Firstly this week is the autumn performance from Boston Playgoers, who this year won awards for two productions – The Frog Prince and Calendar Girls.
Playgoers return to the Spain Lane venue from tonight (Wednesday) to Saturday with Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit.
Organisers promise the production is full of sparkling wit, wonderful characters and mystical mayhem.
The show tells the story of a novellist, who calls on a medium to help him learn more about the occult by holding a seance .
However, in the process the ghost of his former wife is summoned and efforts to carry on result in the death of his second wife.
What ensues is a comedic tale of revenge from the second wife and attempts to exorcise the ghosts of both dead wives from the man’s home.
The show performs each night at 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 and £10.
○ On Sunday audiences will be taken back to the sounds of the sixties with bands such as The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Billy Jay Kramer and The Merseybeats
Mersey Mania is set to be a fantastic show complete with a full stage set of the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool.
Audiences will be able to step back in time to hear all the great sounds from what organisers consider ‘one of the best periods of the 60s’.
The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets for the night are £14 and £12.
