A SIX-day workshop could be just the little thing for your little girls (and boys) when it takes place next week.
Polka Dot Academy’s Summer Musical Workshop, taking place from Monday to Saturday, will transport children to the world of Daddy Warbucks and little orphan Annie.
Annie tells the story of an 11-year-old red-headed orphan and the billionaire businessman who opens his home – and heart – to the child.
Her only wish is to meet her parents, but when the rich Oliver Warbucks offers $50,000 to find them it doesn’t quite go to plan, as her grasping orphanage matron and her brother come up with a devious plan to try and take the little girl and run away with the money.
Just in time, however, her new father figure decides to adopt her – but there are yet more obstacles in the way before happiness can be assured.
Giving youngsters the chance to be in a full musical show production and learn from professional tutors working with the theatre company which put together last year’s popular production of Peter Pan.
Running from 9.30am to 4.30pm each day the workshop, aimed at children aged eight-18, will culminate in performances at 2pm and 7pm on the Saturday.
The final shows mean the youngsters will be able to perform iconic songs such as Hard Knock Life, Tomorrow and Easy Street alongside professional actors from the West End.
The workshop costs £75 for the whole week.
