HOP along to Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre later this month to enjoy the tales of one of Beatrix Potter’s best-loved characters.

On Monday, August 27, Quantum Theatre will be performing The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny at the Spain Lane venue from 6.30pm.

Adapted for the stage by Michael Whitmore, the show tells the story of Peter Rabbit, who knows very well that he should not go into Mr McGregor’s garden, especially as it was there that his father met an untimely end and was put into a pie.

However, Peter cannot resist and goes into the garden, escaping only after several nasty scrapes and losing all his clothes.

He gets a severe telling off from his mother but still Peter does not learn his lesson and goes back, taking his cousin Benjamin with him.

This time it takes Benjamin’s father to rescue them from Mr McGregor’s cat.

Boasting live music and all the favourite characters, the producers promise an enchanting tale for young and old alike.

Tickets cost £12 adult, £6.50 child or OAP.

To book call 01205 363108.
