MODERN anxieties about human genetics, cloning and nature are all themes brought to life in this theatrical version of Frankenstein.
Mary Shelley’s classic gothic tale is coming to Blackfriars on Thursday.
Award-winning theatre company Proteus will take the audience back to 1816 where Mary Shelley, Percy Shelley and Lord Byron spent a lost weekend on the dark shores of Lake Geneva sharing horror stories by candlelight. One of the stories born that dark weekend was Frankenstein.
The story of Frankenstein’s monster is blended with the poetry of Lord Byron and Percy Shelley to create a holistic re-telling of the story, its conception and its legacy.
Created in Proteus’ unique style, fusing physical performace, circus, film and music – this production of Frankenstein is sure to delight and terrify the audience.
Show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets: £13 (early bird £11).
