AUDIENCES are in for a refreshing evening of laughs at Blackfriars Theatre on Friday.

The Comedy Tea House will be presenting live stand-up comedy with four acts throughout the night at the Spain Lane venue.

The evening, which kicks off at 7.30pm, will be MC’d by Craig Murray, the Yorkshire face of Plusnet Broadband and resident compere at The Funny Side of Covent Garden.

Opening will be James Sherwood, who writes one-liners for commercial radio stations and has written for Private Eye.

He is also a regular choral singer on the London scene, despite not being Christian.

He has also been a frequent studio pundit on Sky Newspaper Review and, as a musician, has featured on a BBC documentary about University Challenge.

He will be followed by a rising star, with a successful Edinburgh Fringe Festival show, Ben Davids.

Headlining will be Rob Rouse, who rose to fame 12 years ago after winning the So You Think You’re Funny? Competition at the Edinburgh Festival.

Since then he has gigged all over the world and notched up countless TV appearances on shows such as Grown Ups, The Friday Night Project and 8 Out of 10 Cats.

The show is for adults only.

Tickets cost £10.
