Young actors are hoping their Blackfriars Theatre performance of a hit West End musical will ‘live forever’ in the memory.

The Blackfriars Theatre Academy, run by Polka Dot of Spalding, will be performing Fame The Musical at the Spain Lane venue from tomorrow (Thursday) until Saturday, at 7pm.

The production follows the success of last summer’s musical – The Sound of Music.

The musical is based on the hit motion picture and the long running television series of the 1980s, Fame.

The show follows a group of students in their relationships at a New York High School for the Performing Arts.

The producers said the musical is about real people, desperate to be the best whilst life gets in the way.

The show will include the hit songs Fame, Dancing on the Sidewalk, Bring on Tomorrow and In L.A.

A spokesman said: “It is a fantastic chance for audiences to experience the stage version of this gutsy, energetic and exciting show.

“Pumping rock and pop rhythms fuse with beautiful love ballads. Ballet, drama and music all come together in a myriad of colourful images in an explosion of youthful energy.

“Fame is the original ‘Got Talent’ show!”

Tickets to Fame cost £10.
