Festival lights up Sleaford with sights and sounds

Sleaford was bathed in sights, sounds, dance, music, art and fun thanks to the exciting RiverLight Festival on Saturday.

Storm Babet subsided just in time and everything went ahead, according to Marion Sander, from The Hub. There were local performers and groups as well as visiting arts groups.

Families enjoyed everything from a model show in Riverside Church, to street theatre and puppetry in the Market Place, Money’s Yard and Riverside Precinct. There were giant tree beasts and a dance performance with a Sea Giant. Church Lane School hosted an Eco-Village and there were outdoor music and dance acts in a variety of locations.

The event was rounded off with illuminated lanterns and inflatable sculptures by artist Jason Wilsher Mills lighting up Eastgate Green, sound sculptures and a disco to mark The Hub’s 20th anniversary by the Mothership DJs and live music at Rewind Bar.
