Notts & South Yorks: Rock legends Def Leppard and Whitesnake on tour with dates at Sheffield and Nottingham

Rock icons Def Leppard and Whitesnake have announced a joint headline UK and Irish arena tour with support from Black Star Riders.

And they will play Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena on 13th December, with a date at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena a few days later on 19th December.

Formed in Sheffield, Def Leppard have been hailed as one of UK’s greatest-ever rock bands.

They have sold over 100 million albums worldwide in a career that spans three decades and includes recording two of the best-selling records of all time – Pyromania and Hysteria.

Meanwhile, Whitesnake also carry a reputation as one of the world’s leading rockbands.

Founded by former Deep Purple singer David Coverdale, the band have recorded multi-platinum albums and multiple top-10 hits worldwide, including two number ones with Is This Love and Here I Go Again.

Support act Black Star Riders are the latest incarnation of 70s legends Thin Lizzy and released their second album, The Killer Instinct, this year.

Speaking about the co-headline tour, Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott said: “I am very excited to be working with Whitesnake again.”

“We had such a wonderful time when we did it back in 2008.”

“It’s a great experience for rock fans to be able to see two great live bands on the same stage on the same night.”
