BEFORE AND AFTER: Boston-area eatery revs up for new location with spectacular automotive overhauls (IN PICTURES)

A series of spectacular automotive transformations are taking place as a Boston-area eatery prepares to move to a new site.

V-ATE is relocating from Main Road, Langrick, to the A17 Sutterton roundabout to take advantage of a more prominent location and give it scope to introduce a take-out service. An automotive-themed restaurant, work is under way to furnish it with more eye-popping items inspired by the motoring world. As with its original site, scrap vehicles are featuring in the designs. Victoria Burden, from the business, said: “We never use a base vehicle that would be able to go back out on the road. Everything you see in V-ATE is either made from brand new panels or was a lost cause left to rot or be stripped for parts.” The transformations have been carried out primarily by Victoria’s father Bob Wilding, helped by her husband Neil – two other members of the team behind the business.
