Plans for six new flats at Louth solicitors’ offices
In planning documents submitted to ELDC, the firm (which also has branches in Grimsby and Mablethorpe)explains that the current building has become ‘too large’ for the Louth branch, and provides plans for five two-bedroom flats and one single bedroom flat, with parking spaces at the rear.
The plans will return the historical townhouse to its former residential usage, as there had been flats on the top two floors prior to John Barkers moving into the building in the 1950s.

Hide AdDirector, Jonathan Stones, said: “11 Upgate is an exciting residential development opportunity in the centre of Louth.
“Working with DMC Architecture we have created a scheme that provides quality living accommodation, with the convenience of town centre accommodation.
“[We] will continue to operate from its current site, but will relocate to 18-20 Cornmarket during 2020/2021 to further develop our presence in the region.”
Interestingly, during the law firm’s research, they discovered that when the business first opened in Louth - over a century ago - their first office was originally based at 20 Cornmarket.
