Travel leaders visit East Lindsey attractions

A group of travel organisers have visited East Lindsey to see what the district can offer visitors.

To coincide with the launch of the new Group Travel Guide, Exploring Lincolnshire’s Coast & Countryside, representatives from some of the UK’s leading group travel organisations came to see for themselves what East Lindsey has to offer.

The group of 35 travel organisers from around the country stayed at the Southview Park Hotel in Skegness, and sampled the delights of Butlins, Louth, Gunby Hall and Gardens, Bateman’s Brewery Visitor Centre, Skegness, the Embassy Theatre, Natureland Seal Sanctuary and Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve.

The council’s portfolio holder for economic regeneration, Coun Craig Leyland, said: “From the bustling East Coast to the tranquillity of the Wolds, there is so much to offer in East Lindsey and we hope that travel organisers will see this and help us promote the area to their groups.

“We know that East Lindsey is a fantastic place to visit, but we need to make sure other key players know too – such as travel operators who can drive visitors to the coast – increasing footfall and boosting the economy.”

The publication aims to highlight what the district has to offer groups, including its coast, Wolds, market towns, events, heritage attractions, sport, theatre, accommodation and much more.
