NOSTALGIA: ‘Very exciting and very important’ archeological finds in Boston in 1990

Boston’s old poultry market was revealing its secrets as part of an archeological dig 30 years ago.

Boston community archaeologist Martin Brown said medieval finds demonstrated the area was in occupational use earlier than originally thought – from 1250 rather than 1400.
“Taken for themselves, as pieces of broken pottery and animal bones, the finds themselves are not that exciting,” he said. “But in the wider context of the history of Boston, they’re very exciting and very important.”
