The education watchdog reported ‘significant improvement’ since the school federated with Swineshead’s St Mary’s CofE School in 2007.

It awarded the school a rating of ‘good’ – the second highest grade available to inspectors – for its ‘overall effectiveness’ and ‘capacity for sustained improvements’.

This was up from its previous rating of ‘satisfactory’ in 2006.

Executive headteacher Rob Little said: “The process of federating and being able to join with a school like Swineshead has opened up so many opportunities that we are able to offer the children of both schools.”
