A MAN who hid a wrap of amphetamine in his girlfriend’s handbag when she was driving has been given a conditional discharge by Boston magistrates.
Luke Papworth, of Great Sturton in Horncastle, was also found to have more of the class B drug in his sock when he was stopped by police in Kirton on May 23.
Officers made the red BMW they were travelling in stop as they suspected the 24-year-old to be in possession of drugs.
Papworth, who was not represented by a solicitor, pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled drug of class B when he appeared before the court on Wednesday.
In mitigation he handed a self-penned letter to the bench, but this was not read out in court.
Along with his sentence, Papworth was told he must pay £85 court costs.
Magistrates also ordered forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
