A 46-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of supplying psychoactive substances following a raid on a premise in Boston (today).

The officers raided the premises on Albert Terrace at around 1pm today where they reportedly seized 20 packets of what are now illegal drugs.

They also seized a quantity of cash and mobile phones.

New legislation called the Psychoactive Substances Act came into force yesterday (Thursday) and provides a blanket ban on the production, supply and importation of those substances - frequently referred to as ‘legal highs’.

The law also gives police and other law enforcement agencies grater powers to tackle the trade and could see offenders face up to seven years in prison if convicted of associated offences.
