The council has removed a bag which contained drug needles and bottles from the side of a Boston street this morning (Wednesday).
A warning about the bag was posted on the ‘Buy it sell it swap it boston lincolnshire’ Facebook page which described it as being ‘on Broadfield street just over the train track’.
The poster said wrote the bage was ‘on this way to the school, there is a huge bag that has split with 10+ drug needles and bottles in there!’
A Boston Borough Council spokesman said the bag had not been reported to the authority’s Environmental Department, however, added that an ‘eagle-eyed’ council worker had spotted the bag at 6.40am and removed it.
They advised anyone who spotted similar discarded items to report them to the department on 01205 314200.
Council workers made aware of such items will then visit the site with the appropriate equipment and deal with the problem.
