Anglian Water has confirmed it is set to re-open its one lane closure of Spilsby Road and John Adams Way on the Bargate roundabout in Boston by the end of today (Wednesday).

A spokesman confirmed engineers were currently removing equipment and other gear and once clear the lane would reopen.

They said: “We really want to apologise to everyone for the delay, it has taken longer than we originally said.

“We apologise for any disruption caused.”

The road was closed after a water main burst on November 24.

Anglian Water previously apologised after the original delay stating that it was down to the complex nature of the repairs.

A spokesman said at the time: “It has been a significant engineering challenge with a number of other essential utilities and services under the road and sitting on top of our damaged main that we must navigate.

“We have to be extremely careful when working around these other pipes and cables to ensure they are not damaged, and that can make work slower than we would like.”

The works, which have at times coincided with other road closures, have caused major delays for motorists while the repairs were taking place.
